The Food Service Manager plans, directs and coordinates the activities associated with running a single site, stand-alone food service operation in a facility with only one kitchen and less than 1,000 inmates/beds. This position oversees the operational and financial responsibilities for the kitchen and supervises a team of Food Service Workers and/or Cooks who are involved with the preparation, serving and clean-up of food in a secure correctional facility.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
* Supervises food service workers, which may include inmate labor, in the daily preparation of meals for assigned unit.
* Conducts daily open and close inspections of all areas within assigned unit.
* Performs weekly inventory and replenishes stock by completing order requirements.
* Train all new food service workers on standard operating procedures and company policies
* Schedules workers to insure effective performance of unit food service production.
* Insures ordering and all required reports are completed accurately and on time. Ensures that food items are stored in a safe and hazard free manner.
* Ensures that food items are stored in a safe and hazard free manner. Responsible for overseeing all preventive maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the Program.
* Manages food service operation in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as required local, state and federal laws and regulations.
* Maintain all serving schedules, ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner according to departmental guidelines
* Maintain a sanitary environment following food service and Health Department codes and regulations.
* Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or Equivalent, and you must be at least 18 years of age.
* ServSafe certification.
