We're hiring Food Runner/Dining Room Attendants to Live. Work. Explore. this summer!

Job Summary:

Essential role in supporting the front-of-house team and ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests at one of Glacier National Park's historic lodges. Working closely with servers and hosts, this position helps maintain the pace and flow of service by clearing and resetting tables, refilling water and beverages, and assisting with food delivery. The Server's Assistant contributes directly to Xanterra's commitment to "Legendary Hospitality" by anticipating guest needs, maintaining a clean and organized dining area, and helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Glacier National Park.

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: May through September 2026 (exact dates vary by location)
Pay: $11.15/hr + tips
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

Guest Service & Support

* Support servers and other front-of-house staff in providing prompt, attentive and professional service
* Greeting guests warmly when appropriate and ensure they feel welcome and cared for throughout their visit
* Assist in delivering food and beverages to tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained
* Refill water glasses, coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages as needed
* Anticipate guest and server needs to help maintain a smooth, efficient flow of service

Dining Room Maintenance

* Clear and reset tables quickly and neatly between guests, maintaining proper table settings and cleanliness
* Ensure chairs, floors and surrounding areas are always kept clean and orderly.
* Maintain clean and stocked service stations with silverware, glassware, napkins and other supplies
* Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service areas and side stations
* Follow all safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures in accordance with company and local health regulations

Teamwork & Communication

* Communicate effectively and respectfully with servers, hosts, bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
* Support team members during busy periods by running food, carrying trays or assisting in other duties as directed
* Attend pre-shift meetings and remain informed about daily specials, menu changes and service priorities
* Uphold a positive, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to Xanterra's "Legendary Hospitality."

Professionalism & Reliability

* Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work in alignment with company standards
* Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
* Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance at all times
* Be adaptable and willing to assist with other duties as assigned to support the overall guest experience

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

* Guest Service Orientation: Genuine desire to provide friendly, attentive service and contribute to a positive guest experience
* Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively with servers, hosts and kitchen staff in a fast-paced setting
* Communication: Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to follow directions and anticipate team needs
* Attention to Detail: Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and maintaining a polished dining environment
* Work Ethic: Dependable, punctual and proactive in supporting the flow of service and overall guest satisfaction
* Adaptability: Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by lodge operations.
* Professionalism: Maintains a neat appearance, positive attitude and respectful demeanor consistent with Xanterra's "Legendary Hospitality."

Experience:

* Previous experience in a restaurant, resort, or hospitality environment preferred; fine or casual fine dining experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements include:

* Walk and stand for extended periods of time.
* Lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
* Bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
* Working safely with required chemicals.
