What You Can Expect:
* Critical Care Transport that includes rotor, fixed wing, and ground transport
* Full time and part time options available
* Variable days/nights with a mix of 24 and 12 hour shifts. Includes holidays and weekends.
* Travel may be necessary between Boise, Wood River, and Twin Falls
Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience: 3 years relevant experience
* Licenses/Certifications: EMT-P State of Practice;
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* Valid driver's license.
* Rotor only: Due to aircraft weight restrictions, weight plus full flight suit and helmet cannot exceed 240 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
* FPC = Flight Paramedic Certification; NRP = Neonatal Resuscitation Provider; TPATC = Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Certification
Responsibilities:
The Advanced Practice Paramedic functions as a member of the transport or hospital-at-home teams and practices Community (CP-C), Critical Care (CC-P, FP-C), and Advanced Life Support (ALS) in the community, hospital, or inter-facility transport setting.
* Continuously monitors and reassesses the patient's status during care and with other team members, provides therapeutic interventions to maintain
patient stability.
* Incorporates principles of clinical physiology and safety and clinical assessment during all care settings.
* Through the use of SBAR, shares essential information with team members, physicians, and staff from referring hospitals, emergency personal and other customers.
* Identifies patient needs, establish priorities and provides appropriate interventions.
* Initiates appropriate interventions based upon protocols or online medical control.
* Collects key information from the physician, medical staff, patient, family, laboratory and other sources.
* With the Transport RN, determines priorities for safety and patient care.
* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
* Functions in vehicles, including MIH units, helicopters, fixed-wing, and ground transports, caring for all patient complexities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
