Responsibilities: As a Fire & Life Safety Specialist for Hines, you will ensure building safety by managing fire prevention programs, overseeing system maintenance (alarms, sprinklers), conducting inspections and drills, training staff, enforcing local and client code compliance, and coordinating emergency responses, acting as the liaison during actual fires to protect life and property. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Ensure client Fire and Life Safety programs and regulatory requirements are adhered to. * Review Site Specific Safety Plans, FLS Surveys & Checklists. * Conduct FLS inspections and investigations at both locations. * Manage and operate the client FLS website. * Develop and implement FLS procedures, providing oversight, guidance, training and support for facility managers and engineers. * Work with project teams in relation to FLS infrastructures and equipment. * Provide FLS advisory and input for new and existing construction projects. * Manage emergency response preparedness through development and implementation of plans, procedures, and evacuation protocols. * Assist with Emergency Drill planning and post-drill analysis. * Manage recruitment and training of fire Wardens and first aiders, ensuring compliance with local legal requirements and client requirements. * Manage FLS incidents and conduct fire incident investigations to determine root causes and identify preventive measures. * Oversee Fire and Life Safety issue reporting, logging, tracking, and resolution, resolve open issues. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements include: * High School diploma or equivalent * Five or more years experience with a deep understanding of fire codes, life safety systems, and risk management * Ability to train, motivate, and direct personnel and volunteers (wardens, teams). * Excellent written and verbal skills for reporting, training, and interacting with staff, public, and local fire department. * Strong problem-solving to assess risks and investigate incidents. * Compensation: Chicago - $88,300 - $110,300 + Bonus; Plano- will be dependent on experience.
