Responsibilities:
The Marketing Finance team provides strategic decision support to improve the business and drive strategy. Marketing Finance reports through the Dish Corporate Finance team and CFO, with dotted line support of the Marketing Leadership Team. The team provides ad-hoc strategic financial analysis, as well as budgeting and reporting support. The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial support and analysis for strategic projects, ad-hoc requests from business and operational departments, and providing insights and support for budget and planning initiatives. The analyst's role will also include subscriber profitability analysis, business unit finance support, long-term strategic decision support, and special project analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with several departments including product, operations, marketing, and business development to provide business insights and recommendations on how to improve the financial results of the business
* Collaborate with various team members to construct special project financial analysis
* Develop detailed long-term project forecasts utilizing a bottoms-up approach for a product line
* Evaluate subscriber facing offers for profitability and financial risks
* Build and maintain financial models to track and forecast revenue and expenses
* Interpret financial data and communicate recommendations to department leadership and company executives
* Collaborate with operating groups to suggest ideas to improve performance for all areas of the company
* Develop financial reports to monitor key metrics, interpret financial results, and seek out areas of concern and/or opportunity
* Provide strategic insight into subscriber behavior
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, 1 - 2+ years of experience
* Experience evaluating financials for a subscriber-focused business is preferred
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with some knowledge of database basics (e.g., Microsoft Access, SQL)
* Well-developed oral and written presentation skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable and easy-to-follow presentation materials
* Ability to define problems, seek and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Experience with or ability to work in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to establish productive working relationships with other departments and personnel
* Excellent organization and time management skills; results-oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible with the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines with frequent interruptions and refined priorities
