Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities. Located in Goleta, California, this position is primarily responsible for accounts receivable at the center.

The Financial Specialist will:

* Ensure service authorizations are in place
* Complete batch reconciliation of service logs to recorded services
* Verify all services against authorizations
* Ensure an absence of overages or request additional units to funders with the assistance of Program Managers
* Submit month end revenue and billing verification to national
* Develop and update various trackers to ensure compliance with funder/contract requirements
* Run recorded services report and analyze provider, funder, rate, and service accuracy providing feedback to program managers
* Correct provider, funder, rate, and services based on billing logs during month-end-close to ensure timely billing
* Reconcile revenue
* Complete revenue contract processing
* Complete A/R accounts reconciliation
* Communicate regularly with internal members of the centers' operations team/national A/R team to provide feedback and insights regarding funders, rates, and services
* Reviews admissions/discharges
* Complete revenue forecasting based on changes in rates
* Assist the Director of Finance and/or Business Office Manager in month-end-close process
* Review funding agency/private pay reimbursement rates
* Assist in private pay rates development
* Assist in cost statement rate development for group homes

Position is full-time, fully on-site in Goleta. Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.

Compensation is $20-$22/hr DOE

Qualifications:

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in related jobs.
* Must demonstrate sound judgement and an ability to independently follow up as required.
* Self-motivation and excellent organizational skills required.
* Ability to present analysis and reports and communicate effectively a must.
* Must be proficient in the use of software similar to or including the following: Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, Outlook email, Oracle, MyAvatar, Pro-Filer, and other quantitative tools. 

* Valid Driver's License & satisfactory driving record required.

* California DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance required.
* Pre-employment physical exam and TB Test required.
* Drug screening as per Devereux Drug Free Workplace Policy required.
