Overview:
Waters is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Automation Field Sales Specialist responsible for selling the Waters automation portfolio within an assigned geographic region. The portfolio includes the Andrew+ pipetting robot as well as related software, accessories, and consumables.
The role will be responsible for driving business growth into a wide variety of markets, including life science research, pharmaceutical, food, environmental, and chemical materials. Tactical responsibilities include building relationships with key customers, delivering technical presentations, taking part in workshops and demonstrations of Andrew+, navigating the purchase process, and ensuring customer success at all stages.
The desired candidate is a self-starter in developing and implementing a territorial business plan to drive growth of Waters automation products and services while working in concert with sales account managers, technical sales specialists, and marketing colleagues to deliver a bold call cycle and business development activities. The foundation of the Automation Field Sales Specialist's role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers' needs and challenges, crafting solutions with a lasting and meaningful business impact.
The territory covers the following US states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, South Dakota, North Dakota, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia and Oklahoma.
Responsibilities:
* Meet and exceed sales targets
* Maintain and grow installed base customer happiness
* Passionately develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
* Visit customers and prospects to understand needs and challenges and highlight Waters solutions
* Build technical competence on Waters automation to effectively present and sell Andrew+ pipetting robot and associated products and solutions.
* Keep current on market dynamics, application trends, and competitive landscape
* Proactively lead the sales funnel and improve conversion to closed orders
* Ensure accurate and timely sales forecasting
* Fully utilize sales contact management tools and applications
* Provide feedback to marketing team to build business development programs
Qualifications:
* Minimum of BS/BA in chemistry or a related discipline
* At least 3 years of hands-on laboratory analytical instrumentation
* Work experience with liquid handling, automation systems or LC and LC/MS is an advantage
* Practical sales experience selling into a laboratory environment is an advantage
* Action oriented and self-driven for results
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Excellent organization / planning / time management skills
* Strong communication skills and a good listener
* Mature disposition, positive attitude, and strong sense of dedication
* Adaptive to dynamic and changing environment
* Overnight travel is required
