Overview:
FIBERGLASS REPAIRER/PAINTER (PRPD-2025-22577):
Bowhead seeks an experienced Outboard Engine Mechanic to join our team in Puerto Rico for maintenance of vessels and general maritime support in Ponce and San Juan.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are limited to conducting Fiberglass repairs and all painting operations, applying decals, Cleaning, buffing, polishing and waxing vessels. Assisting the outboard Mechanics with the installation and rigging/de-rigging, diagnosing, and conducting repairs on customers outboard engines, boats and trailers.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of Fiberglass Repairs using resins and epoxies, painting of vessels using approved marine coatings both topside and bottom paints as required.
* Must have experience in installing vinyl decals.
* Cleaning vessels. Polishing, Waxing of vessels. Maintaining all assigned vessels in a clean and ready for inspection/use status.
* Experience conducting fiberglass and aluminum repairs is a plus. Having the capability to conduct aluminum hull weld repairs in accordance with American National Standards Institute/American Welding Society standard - ANSI/AWS D3.7. is desirable but not required.
* Valid Driver's License is required and qualified candidates must be able to obtain a US Passport.
* Able to lift 75lbs on occasion and work in tight and cramped spaces on small boats.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts, ability to work well with Customers.
* Certifications from Mercury Marine is a plus.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Public Trust clearance is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
Physical Demands:
* Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
* Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
* Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
