				Overview:

Fetal Medicine Sonographer - Fetal Center Clinic (Contingent)

Schedules, and performs independent sonographic images of maternal-fetal conditions, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images.

Responsibilities:

* Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
* Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
* Thoroughly understand the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilize new technologies.
* Self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the sonography field.
* Self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the sonography field.
* Assists when necessary with the maintenance of accreditation requirements and processes.
* Reports and calls in-service requests on equipment when needed.
* Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education Requirement:

* Satisfactory completion of an accredited ultrasound training program to include registry, required.

Licensure Requirement:

* ARDMS - OB-GYN, and Within 2 years: pediatric echo (PE), fetal echo (FE), required.

Certifications:

* NT; NB; BLS; *May obtain within 6 months of hire date.

Skills:

* Communication, organizational; interpersonal relations; Independent problem solving.

Experience:

* Two years of experience in OB high risk or MFM setting, required.
* One year of experience performing pediatric and maternal fetal echocardiography or willingness to acquire PE, and FE registry within 2 years from hire date, preferred.
