Overview:
The Federal Tax Provision Manager is a strategic member in the Tax department working with key stakeholders across the finance organization. The Federal Tax Provision Manager will primarily be responsible for the global tax provision and US federal income tax compliance filings while managing a team of tax staff members.
Responsibilities:
* Oversees and prepares quarterly and annual global income tax provision computations, and related disclosures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements (ASC 740).
* Assists with the evaluation of the effective tax rate, maintenance of tax reserves, and overall reconciliation of current and deferred taxes and valuation allowances including being a liaison to global GL Accountants on return to provision calculations and provision activities.
* Monitors, reviews, and updates tax related internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
* Leads Tax compliance activities such as preparation, consolidation, and review of income tax returns in conjunction with external consultants.
* Oversees and acts as lead during income tax examinations.
* Monitors, research, and analyzes tax legislative developments and recommend actions.
* Mentors and supervises staff including coaching and performance management.
* Supports M&A activity, including due diligence, acquisition structuring, and integration planning.
* Conduct cross-functional coordination with stakeholders across Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and other Finance teams.
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in Lincolnshire, IL
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years of experience including 3 years of public accounting
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
* Applicable accounting certification
* Prior management experience
* Strong knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision, Corptax and Excel
* Exceptional functional and technical knowledge of Federal tax law practices, issues and
filings
* Excellent written and oral communication Skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Advanced computer and software skills
* Strong analytical skills
