Responsible for providing expeditious and appropriate responses to alarms and emergency/nonemergency conditions at all times. Monitors surveillance systems, parking gates, building automation system and violation alarms on the card access system. Responsible for monitoring all elevator traffic, calling and dispatching help for entrapment, responsible for monitoring all life safety and medical alarms; maintains logs and reports used to record pertinent information related to all situations. Operates personal computer, answers multiple incoming lines for multiple facilities for both emergent and nonemergent needs ; initiates all emergency and on-call communications when prompted, performs data entry and retrieval of information retained in computerized databases; operates a switchboard console, pagers and various communications equipment. Responsible for Ensuring accuracy for the hospital paging program Applicants must be prepared to work changing workloads and/or rotating shifts. Versatility as a dispatcher is required.
* Operate centralized telephone and paging systems for multiple facilities.
* Answer incoming calls and determine proper routing of calls for multiple facilities.
* Monitor Security, Fire Alarm, and Building Automation systems and determine proper routing of urgent and non-urgent notifications.
* Develop and maintain communications log and reports, which include Information from callers, dispatch records, status of page communications.
* Respond to inquiries from customers and staff regarding services, capabilities, responsibilities and general information.
* Monitor card access computer systems, entering access information as needed.
* Retrieve information and perform inquiries of information in computerized databases. Develop and maintain information references, directories, and reports.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
* Switchboard/multi line phones experience
* HS/GED required
Physcial Requirements-Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
