Job Summary: 

The Facilities Chemical Tech - Level 4 operates and supports chemical processing equipment, including pumps, reverse osmosis systems, and mixers. Key responsibilities include collecting samples during the production process for testing and ensuring that all delivery data, batch records, and operating parameters are accurately documented. This role contributes to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.

Essential Duties:

Equipment Operation & Process Support:

* Operate and support chemical processing equipment and machinery (pumps, reverse osmosis deionized water treatment systems, mixers, etc.).
* Monitor and manage central processes for safe and efficient operations.
* Conduct control checks on raw materials and intermediates before production use.
* Record chemical load check-in and check-out procedures.
* Collect production samples for testing and analysis.
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area.

Work Order & Documentation:

* Complete prioritized work orders and generate new ones in CMMS.
* Accurately log time and provide written/verbal communication on solutions.
* Document delivery data, batch records, and operating parameters.
* Maintain inspection, quality issues, and deviation records.

Collaboration & Team Support:

* Collaborate with and oversee Chemical Team as directed.
* Work with engineers, chemists, operations, and maintenance personnel to solve issues.
* Engage with internal and external teams as required.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.

Safety & Compliance:

* Adhere to SOPs and safety protocols.
* Respond to hazardous materials incidents with relevant parties.
* Support compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specs.
* Ensure quality, plant, and PECNA policies are followed.
* Maintain area cleanliness and meet 6S standards.

Maintenance & Process Improvement:

* Conduct routine/non-routine maintenance (cleaning, calibration, minor repairs).
* Assist in developing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Training & Other Duties:

* Train others at the same or lower level within functional area.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
* Ability to work all shifts and meet PPE/physical requirements.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

* To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area. This role also requires the use of a 40 Cal Arc Flash Suit.

Qualifications:

Education:

* Required: A high school diploma, GED, or at least two years of experience as a Chemical Processing Technician/Facilities Maintenance Technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Preferred: Associate of Science in Engineering (ASE) or an Associate of Applied Science focused on chemical engineering or a related field

Essential Qualifications:

* Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
* At least two to four years of proven experience as a Chemical Process Technician or in a comparable position
* A valid state-issued driver s license and the ability to operate a vehicle as necessitated by the position s responsibilities
* Three years or more experience in a manufacturing or production environment
* Demonstrate moderate ability in troubleshooting across electrical and mechanical disciplines, utilizing guidance when necessary
* Possess moderate knowledge and ability in using hand tools, power tools, digital voltmeters, and alignment testing equipment
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently while collaborating with and supporting internal and external team members according to the demands of the role or department
* At least three years of experience successfully following safety and chemical regulations, specifically those established by OSHA and the EPA
* Ability to commit to working rotating shifts and to undertake overtime, as necessary
* Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by meticulously adhering to established safety protocols and procedures
* HAZWOPER experience
* Experience in Hazard Communication Regulations, which includes the proper procedures for donning and doffing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary, as well as the systematic review of Safety Data Sheets for new materials
* Ability to lift heavy objects and effectively perform the physical demands needed for this position including prolonged standing and functioning within confined spaces
* Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:

* 6  years of related work experience
* 3  years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
* HAZWOPER experience

Preferred Certification(s):

* Hazardous Materials Technician
* Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
