Responsibilities:

The Fire Alarm System Mechanic inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs installed fire alarm detention and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards, inspects fire alarm equipment visually and replaces defective components, tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter, makes needed repairs, and checks pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharges or replaces containers.

Payrate: $40.53/hourly

Work Model: Onsite

Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Performs the Fire Alarm duties necessary to maintain buildings and structures in good repair.
* Works with other Mechanics to share specialized skills and experience related to fire systems maintenance and repair. Incumbent may be required to assist the Sprinkler Team on occasions.
* Performs installations, inspections, periodic tests, maintenance, and repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and NFPA.
* Inspects fire alarm equipment visually and replaces defective components.
* Tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter and makes needed repairs.
* Testing and inspecting of the Fire Extinguishers.
* Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, and verbal and written instructions.
* Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
* Plans, organizes work, and meets all deadlines. Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day.
* Submits and supports outage request as required including working an alternate schedule.
* Responds to emergency site maintenance as required.
* Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective repairs.
* Performs on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
* Performs periodic inventories and prepares material requisitions for replacement items as required.
* Operates customer and company motor vehicles and/or other equipment in a safe manner.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
