Overview: Berk-Tek, a Leviton Company, is looking for extrusion operators to join their fiber network cable manufacturing operations in Fuquay-Varina, NC! Manufacturing experience preferred. An advanced training program upon entry. Average paid training program is 12-15 weeks in length. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Starting pay of $20.00 and up based on experience. * Weeknight shift Differential - $1.75/hr Shifts Available * Weekday Days - Mon-Thur - 6:00am - 4:00pm * Weekday Nights - Mon - Thur - 8:00pm - 6:00am Responsibilities: * Safely sets-up, takes-apart, operates, and maintains cleanliness of any assigned piece(s) of equipment. * Ability to understand all shop floor documents that are necessary to operate the equipment and manufacture the product. * Ability to maintain and complete all required documentation in the manufacturing of the product. * Perform all required quality control checks and inspections on assigned product lines. * Assist in other areas of the cable manufacturing operations as needed. Qualifications: * Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents provided to operator machines printed in English. * Basic math skills, required * Ability to operate a computer, required * Ability to communicate effectively with various employees throughout the facility * Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual contributor Work Environment/Physical Demands: * This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees * Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn * Eye and foot protection may have to be worn * There is potential for lifting weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis * There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures * The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination * May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
