Responsibilities:
The incumbent provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The incumbent should use critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. The incumbent collaborates with members of the healthcare team, provides leadership, personal/professional development, and conducts him/herself professionally. The incumbent coordinates with the RN for facilitating the routine operations of the cardiac rehabilitation program. The incumbent is also responsible for initial exercise prescriptions of patients and ongoing assessment/adjustment throughout the recovery process.
As an Exercise Technician, you will recruit program participants, design individualized rehabilitation programs, conduct educational classes, and supervise group exercise sessions for individuals with cardiac disease, all under the supervision of the Cardiac Conditioning Coordinator. Every day you will engage with potential participants, collaborate on tailoring rehabilitation plans, deliver instructive sessions, and lead group exercises. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for recruitment and education, a clear understanding of cardiac rehabilitation principles for program design, and effective leadership in supervising group exercise settings.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's of Science degree in exercise physiology, physical education or related field.
* One (1) year recent experience in Cardiac Rehab or related field.
* Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred
* Certified Personal Trainer/Exercise Speciast.
