Overview: Part Time. Shift: Variable Utilizing the FOCUS values, coordinates and implements physical activity/exercise rehab care of patients within the cardiac / pulmonary rehab program under the direction of the Department Manager. Performs work of considerable difficulty. Represents UPH Trinity Medical Center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve. Responsibilities: * Responsible for exercise prescription and progression of patients in program Responsible for safe exercise programming Assist with evaluation and discharge of patients Assist with patient education. * Reviews patient health history and adjusts initial exercise prescription/plan. * Collects initial preprogram outcomes information. * Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. * Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. * Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. * Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. * Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. * Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. * Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in exercise science, Human performance, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Previous experience in rehab setting, internship, or clinical setting preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Must maintain current CPR Certification. CCRP, CEP, ACSM exercise specialist preferred. ACLS certification *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs. The salary range listed does not include other forms of compensation which may include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits that may be applicable to this role.
