Overview: Executive Director of Strategic Communications & Public Relations West Des Moines, IA The Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations is responsible for leading the development and execution of communication related to the organization's strategy, along with executive and internal communications initiatives across various stakeholder groups within the workforce. The role will focus on the maturation of internal editorial and events in partnership with UPH Senior Team, Market Presidents and senior leaders across the System in accordance with the organization's calendar and engagement needs. Additionally, this position will lead the development and execution of public relations, media relations, and crisis and issues management efforts, both reactive and proactive, across the System to strengthen brand reputation, reduce organizational risk and support change management. Responsibilities: This leader will serve as a trusted, consultative partner to C-level executives, with an ability to navigate confidential and complex content with a collaborative mindset. As a key member of the Marketing Communications leadership team, this individual will be accountable for championing cross-functional collaboration for all communications and public relations efforts, as well as productive partnership between System and Market teams, in service to organizational guiding principles and the strategic plan. Qualifications: Bachelor' Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field is required MBA or Masters Degree in Communications, Public Health, Marketing or related field is preferred 10+ years or progressive leadership experience in a strategic communications, public relations, external affairs or related field preferably with a health system is required 7 years of direct project management coordinating/managing multiple projects simultaneously is required 5 years experience leading multi-faceted, matrix teams is required
