The Executive Director, Principal Gifts and Campaigns is responsible for managing and building upon the Foundation's Principal Gifts Program and advancing the emerging campaign initiatives, such as Ambulatory care, with a primary emphasis on identifying key strategic funding priorities which have the opportunity to be funded by donors and prospects capable of making a charitable investment of $1 million or more. This position is responsible for production of proposals, reports, project narratives, budgets and financial reports. Additionally, they are responsible for managing the strategy, coordination and tracking of principal gift donors/prospects for the organization.

This position will offer a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of an Executive Director, Development, Oncology at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

* Produces communication materials including proposals, reports, project narratives and corresponding budgets in a variety of styles, modifying each as appropriate for each principal level donor and/or prospect. 
* Prepares financial documents to accompany fundraising materials including proposal budgets, grant expense reports and budget and expense report narratives. 
* Collaborates with HMH Executive Leadership to understand and prioritize strategic initiatives for principal gift-level donors and prospects. 
* Maintains an understanding and knowledge of the interests and expectations of the organization's principal gifts donors and prospects.
*  Works collaboratively with development teams to develop and manage engagement, solicitation and stewardship strategies for high capacity prospective donors.
* Responsible for engaging with internal stakeholders in Finance, Network programs and services areas and Communications colleagues to develop compelling and relevant fundraising materials as well as conducts research independently and interviews appropriate colleagues in order to obtain necessary information. 
* Engages with colleagues to develop events, communications and stewardship plans and activities, for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship needed to advance principal gifts. 
*  In coordination with other principal gift colleagues, develops proposals to match donor interests and align with strategic priorities of HMH and HMH Foundation. 
*  Develops strategies to advance the philanthropic support of emerging campaign priorities including Ambulatory Care. 
* Participates in Principal Gifts meetings and strategy sessions. 
* Works in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment. 
* Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 
* Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

* Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university. 
* Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in major and principal gift fundraising at a hospital, educational institution or not-for-profit organization. 
* Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience managing a team. 
*  An articulate, genuine touch; professional enthusiasm; ability to innovate and be resourceful; a strong work ethic; superior oral and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills. 
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Collegial team player able to interact effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies. 
* Effective in a fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to the collaborative goals of an organization.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments and deadlines. 
* Comprehensive capital campaign experience.

 Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

* Working knowledge of fundraising principles and practices 
* Master's Degree. 
* Highly functional with Google Office platform.
