				Overview:

Responsibilities:

The Environmental Services Tech I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned responsibilities, the EVS Tech will have contact/interactions with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience.

* Contribute to hospital efficiency and integrity by maintaining quality cleanliness in accordance with hospital and CDC guidelines
* Sanitize and disinfect specific areas such as patient rooms, nurse's stations, waiting areas, meeting rooms, offices, corridors, and common areas
* Understand and utilize all safety guidelines and procedures when using cleaning chemicals and disposing of hazardous materials
* Inventory and ensure proper storage of hazardous materials for ignitability (flammable), corrosivity (rust), reactivity (explosive), toxicity (poison), etc.
* Appropriately display signs to prevent injuries of patients, employees, and visitors such as slips and/or falls

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

* High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
* Previous experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning in high traffic facilities such as hospitals, clinics, hotels, casinos, convention centers, schools, and the like
