Responsibilities:
The incumbent performs cleaning, sanitation and other environmental services and support duties involved in hospital maintenance. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.
As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.
Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.

Qualifications:
* Cleans and sanitizes all out-patient and ancillary departments, cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceiling, patient and non-patient furniture, floors, carpet and windows.
* Cleans assigned areas within the given eight-hour period. Selects and prepares proper solution for all jobs.
* Compliance must meet set standard of 94% as per QA standard. Compliance for floor, carpet, vent and light fixture cleaning will be met at 98%.
* Collects and transports infectious waste in special waste containers. Collects, processes and disposes of trash and linen throughout the facility.
* Compliance will be met at 100% as per Universal Precautions and Glove Policy.
* Replaces cubicle curtains in each assigned area every other month, sooner if needed. Cleans vents in all assigned areas monthly. Compliance is met at no less than 94%.
Preferred:
* HS Diploma or GED.
