The Environmental/Energy Manager directs the Installation's Environmental Compliance Program. This position ensures contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the installation Energy Plan, and other specified sustainability requirements affecting the contract.
Ensures Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management system, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting the contract.
Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy.
The Environmental/Energy Manager is responsible to perform as the primary technical compliance advisor for the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB_) environmental compliance activities. The Environmental /Energy Manager guides and directs the environmental compliance regarding NSGB,DoD, Federal, State and local rules and regulations in compliance with the contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the Environmental Compliance Program is in compliance with all applicable environmental rules and regulations so as to not receive any Notice of Violation (NOV) from any federal, state, or local authorities concerning service provider maintained systems or equipment.
* Develops and monitors environmental programs to comply with federal, state and military requirements. Act as liaison with representatives of Installation Environmental, Safety, Fire Department, Environmental, OSHA, and other government organizations.
* Provides a Management System that supports the Installation's Environmental Plan that complies with all Federal, State and local rules and regulations.
* Advises Program leadership on environmental compliance policies and procedures, notifying as required base activities involving environmental impacts, reporting environmental emergencies.
* Monitor the environmental budget.
* Prepare and submit purchase requests in support of the environmental program
* Other assigned duties as needed to accomplish the mission.
* May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating work days to meet mission and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science (e.g. Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) desired.
* Program-Specific Requirements: HAZWOPER Certification and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Certification preferred.
* Valid State Driver's License
* Ability to obtain and maintain a HAZWOPER certification.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) certification.
* May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating work days to meet mission and customer requirements.
* Experience
* Minimum five (5) years' of environmental management experience in a base operations service support function or a municipal support environment.
* Skills
* Must be customer oriented and have proven leadership experience.
* Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
* Ability to create and manage a budget
* Able to give attention to detain and execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Able to deal with customers and company employees in courteous, professional, and effective manner.
* Supervisory Responsibilities
* Direct supervisory and department budget responsibilities are required for this position.
* May be required to work a flexible work schedule and alternating work days to meet mission and customer requirements.
* A normal work week is 48 hours (5 days per week). Must be willing to work additional hours when mission requires.
