				Responsibilities:

GFT is seeking a Entry Level Transportation Planner to join our Planning Team in Southwest Florida! This entry level role follows a remote work model with local travel to clients located across a 12-county territory in Southwest Florida.

GFT in partnership with the Commute Connector Program (a program of the Florida Department of Transportation) is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Planner  to assist in the growth of the Program. The Outreach Specialist is an integral position within the Program and will focus on community outreach efforts to aid in the support of the travelling public to facilitate growth in commute modes (vanpool, transit, biking, cycling, etc.)

What you'll be challenged to do:
As Entry Level Transportation Planner, you will facilitate educational programs related to employer and commuter outreach. The Outreach Specialist will report to the Program Manager and will be part of a small and focused team overseeing the Commute Connector Program. You will coordinate and implement outreach and sales activities with internal and external stakeholders, local transit operators, governments, employers, and various other partner organizations to implement commute programs (carpool, transit, biking, walking, teleworking, and flextime).

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

* Engage with employers and commuters in-person, via email, and phone to develop and maintain relationships and participation in the Commute Connector program.
* Travel within a 12-county territory in Southwest Florida; with reliable transportation, (mileage is eligible for reimbursement).
* Facilitate and support the formation and continuation of new and existing carpools.
* Develop new and innovative approaches to market and recruit new clients.
* Document and maintain accurate commuter, employer, and partnership records.
* Attend, staff, and/or present at meetings, events, and presentations to promote and maintain commute alternative programs.
* Track progress against participation goals, produce reports and make recommendations for key performance indicators.
* Provide input to strategic decisions including design and plans that affect employer services and outreach.
* Coordinate with other team members and partners to ensure that a high quality of outreach and engagement is provided to all employer clients.
* Work collaboratively with regional partners to accurately and successfully market partner products and services.
* Participate in internal team strategy meetings to assess engagement activity, improve ongoing effectiveness, and develop/meet individual and team goals.
* Help answer incoming telephone calls and respond to inquiries.
* Occasional availability for after-hours presentations and activities is required. 

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Urban Planning or related field.
* Minimum of one year experience in one or a combination of the following: business development, sales, marketing, outreach, public relations, or related field.
* Knowledge of effective sales strategies and techniques, including promotional campaigns and materials; practices involved in effective office administration and coordination of projects; engagement campaigns that are designed to generate public interest. 
* Strong capability with public speaking and professional interactions.
* Communication skills, including strong writing and presentation skills to articulate complex data and topics
* Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in work assignments.
* Ability to be adaptable to varying project work requirements and changes.
* Ability to work within a collaborative team environment. 
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
* Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License.

What we prefer you bring: 
* Knowledge of, and experience with, transportation, transit, transportation, or other public services is preferred, but not required as training is offered.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $55,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
