				Responsibilities:

GFT is seeking an Entry Level Transmission Line Engineer to join our power group in Chicago, IL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum 3 days of onsite office attendance.

What you'll be challenged to do:

You will support the design of overhead and underground transmission lines by participating in site visits during design and construction phases to verify field conditions and ensure alignment with the approved design. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will perform detailed calculations, contribute to technical reports, and collaborate with internal and external teams to advance project deliverables.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

* Assist in the development of detailed construction drawings for both underground and overhead transmission lines based on client and industry standards.
* Perform site visits and inspections during design and construction phases to verify design intent and to ensure installation is in accordance with approved design.
* Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop detailed designs and attend regularly scheduled meetings to provide update on the status of the design.
* Perform detailed calculations to support the design and create reports to clearly express those calculations.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
* 0-3 years of experience and a demonstrated interest in the power delivery industry through internship, work or applied academic projects.

* Demonstrated interest in electrical transmission or high-voltage transmission lines.
* Strong commitment to learning and professional development.
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Capable of reading and reviewing design drawings.

What we prefer you bring:

* Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
* Autodesk (AutoCAD & AutoCAD Civil 3D).

* Familiarity or an interest in learning PLS-CADD or other structural design software package.

Compensation:

The range for this position is salary range is $75,000 - $85,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
