Responsibilities:
GFT is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, or Orlando FL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at any of our Florida offices.

What you'll be challenged to do:
The Entry Level Traffic Engineer will demonstrate experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, organization and completion of traffic studies, projects, and concept development of interchange projects for a variety of clients, particularly states and municipalities.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Conduct evaluations, investigations, and design in traffic engineering, including signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, ITS, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT).
* Perform traffic analyses, including capacity, Level of Service (LOS), queuing, delay, and related studies.
* Assist with the design and development of construction documents, including CAD drafting, plan preparation, computations, and coordination with other disciplines and subconsultants.
* Prepare technical reports and memoranda for Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Safety Studies, Transportation Management Plans, and MOT alternatives analyses.
* Perform field observations and data collection, including traffic counts, speed studies, delay and gap studies, sight distance measurements, and general roadway condition assessments.
* Prepare construction cost estimates, specifications, and presentation materials for clients and public meetings.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book, Highway Capacity Manual, and ITE Trip Generation Manual.
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
* 0 to 2 years' experience in Traffic Engineering.
* Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Microstation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement capabilities.
* Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
What we prefer you bring:
* Experience with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS and Sidra.
* Experience with traffic modeling software such as Cube and VISSIM/VISUM.
* Knowledge of various engineering software design systems, such as MicroStation or OpenRoads.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000 Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
