				Responsibilities:

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level structural engineer to join our water group.

Responsibilities include: 

* Assisting with the structural design of water resource structures and other structural engineering projects
* Evaluating and analyzing existing structures
* Preparing structural plans and specifications for bidding and construction
* Preparing formatted structural calculation packages
* Writing technical reports; and participating in site visits 

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required. 

The successful candidate must have:

* A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university or within nine months of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the following:

* Structural engineering coursework including design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber
* Structural analysis and design in-practice (work experience) including concrete, steel, masonry, and anchorage
* Design, analysis, and construction methods of water retaining structures and retaining walls using reinforced concrete
* Construction administration of structural systems including observations, RFIs, submittal review, and working collaboratively with contractors to develop solutions
* Structural engineering software programs including finite element analysis, CAD, 3D modeling, and production programs (such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, and Bluebeam Revu)
* Structural engineering Codes and Standards
* Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
* Familiarity with in-house calculation tools including spreadsheets (MS Excel)
