GFT is currently seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our Building and Places Group in Pittsburgh, PA. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Pittsburgh, PA office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

GFT is seeking an Entry Level  Structural Engineer to join our Buildings and Places Structural Team at our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role involves working directly with our Project Managers on projects that vary in size and complexity.  Your initial goals will be to learn from your co-workers and develop the base of core values and expertise required for you to advance your career.

In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

* Assist in the Development of  comprehensive structural drawings with clarity and precision, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
* Perform engineering calculations using both software tools and hand calculations to analyze and design structural elements such as beams, columns, and foundations.
* Conduct gravity and lateral system analysis for low- to mid-rise building projects.
* Evaluate and analyze existing structures for retrofits and rehabilitations.
* Assist with field inspections for facilities and transit-related structures as required.
* Utilize industry-standard software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, and TEDDS for structural analysis and design.
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a professional and productive manner.

Qualifications:

What you will bring to our firm: 

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (required).
* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (required).
* 0-1 years of structural design experience.
* Proficiency in structural analysis and design using both engineering software and hand calculations (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, STAAD).
* Experience with structural drafting and detailing in AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation.
* Basic understanding of building codes and industry standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE, etc.).
* Strong attention to detail with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
* Valid driver's license required.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
