				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our Water team in Charlotte, NC! Our Water Discipline is growing, and we have exciting projects to engage motivated engineers who enjoy working on a variety of large infrastructure projects that include steel and reinforced concrete design. Our structural engineers often work closely with other Geotech, Hydraulics, Environmental, and Dam Safety engineers, providing great exposure to all aspects of a project. Our projects are unique designs and provide a diverse array of interesting work to keep our staff challenged and engaged. Our upcoming project portfolio includes jobs on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country.

Responsibilities:

* Perform engineering calculations and create construction cost estimates.
* Work with senior staff to create project designs for structures on or near the water (locks, dams, water control gates, mooring dolphins, etc.).
* Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
* Interpret and understand drawings from various disciplines and respond to requests for information.
* Conduct field inspections and surveys in support of design and construction efforts.
* Research and apply code provisions to design.
* Research design alternatives and document findings for project engineer/manager.
* Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures using own judgement.
* Assist senior staff in the creation of proposals, client information, and designs.
* Develop drawings while applying changes and corrections as needed.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
* EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is a plus. 
* Interest in structural engineering projects on or near the water preferred.
* Prior internship or class experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
* Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
