Responsibilities:
As GFT continues to grow and expand, we are seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Technician to support our Buildings & Places group in our Fife, WA office.

What you will be challenged to do:
The Entry Level Mechanical Technician will provide support to engineers and project managers in developing, editing, and managing technical specifications for building projects. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and excellent written communication.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Assist with the preparation, formatting, and editing of technical specifications using Microsoft Word.
* Review documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
* Support project teams in compiling specification sections and coordinating documentation.
* Maintain organization of project files and document libraries.
* Work with software such as Bluebeam and SpecsIntact (training provided).
* Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and administrative staff to meet deadlines.
* Learn and apply best practices for document management in the A/E/C industry.
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 0-3 years of experience in technical writing, mechanical support, or related area.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread and spot inconsistencies.
* Critical thinking skills with the ability to follow instructions and identify potential issues.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
* Ability to learn new software and tools.
What we prefer you bring:
* Associate or bachelor's degree.
* Familiarity with the A/E/C industry.
* Experience with BST SpecLink or Deltek Specpoint (MasterSpec).
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $70,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
