Overview: TerraSense, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking for an entry-level full-time technician to work in our Geotechnical Laboratory as a Laboratory Technician testing soil/rock (geotechnical), concrete, aggregate and other construction materials to ASTM and AASHTO standards. Responsibilities: * Perform testing procedures in the laboratory accurately and in accordance with standards and specifications. * Become proficient in soil and rock classification systems. * Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and clients both verbally and in writing. * Work independently with supervision. * Work Environment may require regular exposure to bending, twisting, moderate to loud noise conditions and lifting weights of up to 75 lbs. * Some weekend and overtime work may be required. Qualifications: * Training and certifications will be provided. * Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, or Physics is preferred. * NJSAT, ACI, NICET certifications are preferred, but not required. * Work hours will be 8 hours between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM most business days. * Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Compensation: $18-$20 per hour (depending on qualifications)
