Overview: Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for an entry-level part-time technician to work in our Geotechnical Laboratory as a Laboratory Technician testing soil/rock (geotechnical), aggregate and other construction materials to ASTM and AASHTO standards. This position is located in Mays Landing, NJ. Responsibilities: * Perform testing procedures in the laboratory accurately and in accordance with standards and specifications. * Become proficient in soil and rock classification systems. * Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and clients both verbally and in writing. * Work independently with supervision. * Work Environment may require regular exposure to bending, twisting, moderate to loud noise conditions and lifting weights of up to 75 lbs. * Some weekend and overtime work may be required. Qualifications: * Training and certification will be provided. * NJSAT, ACI, NICET certifications are preferred, but not required. * Work hours will be 16 to 30 hours per week between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM most business days. * Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Compensation: $18-$20/hr (depending on qualifications)
