				About Us:

Our Academy opened its doors in 2004 to meet the needs of parents and students in the local and expatriate communities of Beijing. Since that time, we have worked with well over a thousand students, ranging in the age from preschool to adult. We have helped struggling students to raise grades, and gifted students to enhance skills in mathematics, science, English as a Foreign Language, and many other academic subjects. The students who attend our Academy find themselves immersed in a comfortable learning environment, and a nurturing, peaceful place in which to study. 

We offer K-12 tutoring programs and small group workshops for every student, at every stage from early reading to college prep, math, science, and language arts. 

About Beijing City:   

The Chinese have always had a flair for formidable displays of power and wealth, and nowhere in China is that more clear than Beijing. From the ostentatious portrait of Mao Zedong at the front gate of Tian'anmen Square to the sprawling Temple of Heaven Park - the capital city of the world's most populous country is a sight to behold.  

Sometimes called Peking, China's second largest city (by population after Shanghai) has long been the political, cultural and educational capital of the Middle Kingdom. Many of China's most famous landmarks can be found in or around the city, including ancient wonders such as the Great Wall of China, the Ming Tombs and the Summer Palace. There are five UNESCO World Heritage Sites in or around Beijing city.  

Home to the official national dialect (Mandarin or "Putonghua"), savory Peking duck and Beijing Opera, not to mention world-class shopping and nightlife, Beijing is a Chinese city like no other. A week or a month isn't nearly enough time to soak in all the different sites, sounds and flavors of this vibrant metropolis. 

About the Candidate:

Responsibilities:

 *Teaching a maximum of 25 hours out of a 35-hour work week 
 *Planning and delivering workshops to children aged 5.5 -18 in groups of 4 to 10 students 
 *Planning and delivering 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 individual tutoring sessions.  
 *Evaluating student progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement to both students and their parents 
 *Assigning and evaluating out of class exercises/homework 
 *Providing feedback on lessons and materials used to assist in continually improving our brand. 
 *Meeting with coordinator weekly as needed to review ongoing student progress. 
 *Assisting in incoming student assessments.  

 **Teaching assignments are made based upon discussion with the teacher regarding skills and experience in the classroom. Ranges here represent possibilities but may not actual vary as much depending on an applicant's actual background. 

Qualifications:
 
 *2+ year teaching experience  
 *B.A. degree in a subject related to English (M.A. and/or Teaching Certification preferred) 
 *TEFL certificate preferred 
 *Native English speaker 
 *Passport issued by the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand 
 *Aged 25 to 55 (due to China working visa restrictions) 
 *No criminal record 
 
Package Information:

 *Market competitive NET salary of 14,500 - 18,500 RMB (dependent on experience and position offered)* 
 *Paid annual leave (25 days in addition to Chinese New Year Holiday) 
 *Sponsored Z working visa 
 *Flight allowance (up to 8,000 RMB with proof of purchase)per contract year 
 *Health insurance reimbursement up to 800 USD per contract year 
 *Arrival support (locating and securing housing, support with upfront housing costs to be deducted later) 
 *Housing allowance of CNY 5,000 per month to be provided with salary regardless of actual rental cost 
 
 **During the first two months (60 days) of employment, 1,000 RMB is held in escrow each month as part of the probation period. Once a teacher has successfully passed the probation period, his or her salary increases to the amount listed here, and the money in escrow is included in the third month's pay. If a teacher fails to pass the probation period or leaves of his or her own accord before the end of the third month of employment, this amount is not paid.
