About Tianjin:

Tianjin is best known as the main port of entry for China's northeastern manufacturing corridor. It's the largest coastal city in the north and is just a stone's throw from the capital - going to Beijing is a 30-minute ride by high-speed rail.

Ex-pats find Tianjin to be a very livable city - it has all of the amenities from home including shopping malls, western restaurants and coffee shops. Tianjin has a modern and efficient subway system that includes four lines (several more are under construction) and getting around by taxi or bicycle is very easy.

Tianjin has a rich history and has many examples of old British and Italian architecture. The famous Italian Concession Area has the largest cluster of Old Italian architecture outside of Italy. Other local attractions are the Huanyaguang section of the Great Wall, the Tianjin Eye and Tianjin's Ancient Culture Street. Outside the city centre is Binhai, which includes Tanggu and TEDA (Tianjin Economic Development Zone). These areas are home to much of Tianjin's commercial activity and is one of the engines driving the smoking hot Tianjin economy.

Job Description:

The working week is 40 hours, which includes teaching 25 teaching hours. Classes are mostly small in size and have teaching materials prepared for you. Office duties are minimal; we don't spend time correcting tests or homework or doing much lesson planning in the office. 

All Private Classes have lesson plans already made for them, which makes it easier to prepare - teachers just have to review the lesson plan before class and review any vocabulary or grammar structures they are not familiar with. Preparation for a Social Club may take a bit of time, however, especially if it's a topic of the teacher's choosing and he or she needs to create the lesson plan and material.

Occasionally another member of our staff will need a teacher to perform a level test for a student, or a student will need a teacher to correct grammar of a presentation they're preparing for presentation class.

Responsibilities:

*Teach up to 25 hours per week
*Lesson planning and preparation
*Conducting level tests
*Administrative duties (ie. Attendance records, curriculum development)
*Counseling students by providing constructive feedback
*Participation in Extra Curricular Activities (ECA)
*Participating in ongoing training and workshops arranged by school
*Participating in promotional and marketing activities organized by school
*Attending all scheduled meetings 

Basic Qualifications:

  -TEFL/CELTA qualification is preferred
  -Native English speakers and passport holders from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK or United States.
  -Bachelor degree or equivalent
  -2 years life or teaching experience necessary
  -Sociable, positive and hard-working  
  -Culturally inquisitive
  -Looking for a challenge
