Job Description: University positions usually have the benefit of a light teaching load and summer/winter breaks. You will only have about 15 to 20 classroom hours over a five-day week. Many of the openings do not require office hours, which means you'll have plenty of time to pursue other interests, or to take on private tuition. Class sizes are typically between 20 and 30 students. About Gongyi City: Gongyi, formerly Gong County, is a county-level city just outside Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan Province. It has a population of 790,000 people, and lies on the northern side of Mount Song. The city was once known as Zhenxun (斟鄩), and was reputedly capital of China during part of the Xia dynasty. The celebrated Song tombs are just on the outskirts of the city, and Gongyi is thought to be the birthplace of the Tang dynasty poet Du Fu, often considered China's greatest poet. Gongyi is less than 70km north of China's famous Shaolin Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site and spiritual home of China's wushu (武术), or martial arts.
