Overview:
To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering. Provides assistance in all operational aspect of the Engineering Department.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Director of Engineering/Engineering Manager in the full upkeep of the preventative maintenance, including the keeping of logs on work done, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
* Assist the Director of Engineering and the Engineering Manager the procurement of supplies and the issuance of purchase orders.
* Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
* Maintain up-to-date inventories of heat, light & power and repair and maintenance supplies.
* Respond to guest requests.
* Work with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and coordinates their activities.
* Assume the full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager.
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni's job scenarios.
* Must be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures.
* Schedule and complete equipment PMs.
* Operate and maintain low-pressure boiler for the hot water system.
* Operate and maintain other vessels as needed for hot water kitchen steam and air conditioning systems.
* Assist mechanics and external contractors with repairs of hotel property and equipment.
* Repair and maintain commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.
* Repair and maintain swimming pool and pool equipment.
* Completion of all assigned work orders and daily tasks.
* Receive direction for house calls via radio.
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
* Have a thorough understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
* Technical/specialized training required.
* Must be willing to work based on business levels and occupancy levels.
* May be required to work long hours and work in a high paced environment where a sense of urgency is mandatory.
* Candidate must be organized and manage his/her time as there will be more than one task starting at the same time.
* Candidate must be able to not only follow direction but be able to think on their feet.
* Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotels guests.
* Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC knowledge is required.
* Previous maintenance experience required, hotel experience and training preferred. Minimum of two years hotel and/or commercial building maintenance required.
* One year of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment experience is required, commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
* Electrician experience is a plus.
* Previous experience with response to emergency situations is required.
* Good communication, attention to detail, time management, computer and guest satisfaction skills are required.
* The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
* The ability to crawl for short periods of time.
* The ability to bend, reach over-head, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
* The ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
* The ability to utilize step stools and ladders
