Responsibilities:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant supervisory experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire, but must be obtainable within a reasonable period of time as determined by program requirements. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Qualifications:
As an Engineering Manager - Software for the Torpedo Systems Group, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for software engineering tasking, test procedure and test plan development, requirements verification and traceability approaches and with additional responsibilities in modernization efforts including software automation and legacy tool assessments. This role is approximately 25% functional management/team leadership and approximately 75% direct charge program.
You and your team will work with the Technical Leadership to make critical decisions on test strategies and work with cross functional teams to ensure solid software solutions that meets requirements with the performance needed for deployment. Preferred skills or experiences for a successful candidate:
* Excellent problem-solving and system-thinking abilities.
* Demonstrated leadership skills on complex programs with multi-disciplinary engineering teams pushing technological boundaries.
* Leadership of complex projects, and mentoring and development teams and individuals
* Understanding of systems engineering strategies, principles, and measures.
* Demonstrated experience with Agile development processes and practices in a DoD setting.
* Ability to support design, development, and implementation of cost-effective software solutions and systems.
* Experience in the development of test plans, test procedures, and implementation of requirements traceability within the software environment.
* Demonstrated background in software development in embedded and PC environments with safety critical considerations.
* Strong background in embedded Linux distributions, boot loaders, and kernel development.
* Experience with development of software pipelines that ensure product quality and process efficiency that may include version control, unit testing, automated software builds, static analysis, and document generation.
* Ability to present strategies, plans, and results to internal and external customers
