Overview:
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Cloud Software Engineering Manager to join our Connected Science organization. In this role you will lead and oversee a team who will be building scalable, secure cloud-based solutions to support leading analytical applications in the Liquid Chromatography space. Your team will leverage the AWS cloud technologies as you collaborate with dynamic, engaged and diverse engineering teams.
We are looking for a passionate and skilled manager and leader with a talent for building high quality teams capable of developing and delivering complex cloud-based solutions. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and engage in technical and planning discussions, demonstrate problem-solving abilities, and present and share ideas through global collaboration.
Responsibilities:
* You will provide guidance and support to multiple scrum teams and junior team members.
* You will ensure the consistent and predictable delivery of high-quality solution, using industry recognised metrics to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
* You will collaborate closely with Product, QA, Security, Architects, Tech Leads and other stakeholders to align delivery with business priorities
* You will direct and guide the teams in designing and implementing core software components, and applications ensuring best practices are followed.
* You will encourage and support the development of your team members to achieve their career goals.
* You will interview, recruit, and hire team members to expand the engineering team.
* You will maintain a culture of agility, self-organization, accountability, DevOps, and automation within the technology team.
* You will foster a culture of continuous improvement.
* You will act as the escalation point for your team of engineers and for platform technical issues in general
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field
* Experienced in working with and adopting Agile methodologies and best practices
* Experienced in leading high-performing teams through complex Cloud initiatives
* Previous experience developing or testing C#.NET applications in native Cloud environments is highly desirable
* Experience of the Atlassian Toolset is highly desirable
* You will have exposure to AWS and Azure cloud platforms, Docker containerization, and cloud services.
* You will have a demonstrated background with observability tools, SaaS platform analytics, and security practices.
* You will have a solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD processes, and database release management.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in regulated or high-compliance environments (life sciences or healthcare a plus).
