Overview:
This is an RF Engineering internship opportunity for a current full-time student seeking a Bachelor's or Master's degree during the summer of 2025.
CAES is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual as an intern to assist our RF/microwave engineering team with the design and development of leading-edge products for military and space-based applications. Under direct supervision, you will design and simulate RF/microwave components and circuits and gain knowledge in RF design, manufacturing, and test of microwave products.

Responsibilities:
* Work independently or within a team environment.
* Design and evaluate test circuits.
* Understand manufacturing approach and limitations.
* Work with RF engineering to understand basic microwave component theory and practical realization.
* Design and evaluate components using available design and layout tools. Follow established standard design process.
* Provide nominal simulation results along with tolerances analysis.
* Assist the component engineering team developing approved material lists for key suppliers.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Actively in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a major in Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
* Have taken relevant coursework in circuit analysis, transmission line theory and RF design.
* Basic understanding and strong interest in microwave theory.
* This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
* Ability to obtain or maintain a Security Clearance.
Preferred:
* Ability to design experiments, analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving.
* Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written technical publications; communicate quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.
* Computer skills: working in networked environment using a Windows and or Windows like interface using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word software programs at an advance level; LabView, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or exposure to 2D and 3D CAD programming a plus.
* Math & Analytical skills: advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements.
* Time Management and Organization skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.

Pay Range: $20 - $28 per hour (San Diego). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
