Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!

Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

To ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment while providing maintenance services to guests in a courteous, professional, and engaging manner.   

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on commercial kitchen equipment. 
* Repair and maintain all commercial kitchen equipment including stove tops, ovens, hot boxes, and small appliances 
* Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers for the hot water system. 
* Maintain and repair dish washing equipment 
* Complete all assigned work orders and daily tasks promptly. 
* Maintain correct stock/inventory of kitchen parts and communicate when replenishment is needed. 
* Respond to all requests. 
* Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs. 
* Keep all work areas clean. 
* Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.  
* Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures. 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Previous maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred. 
* Commercial kitchen experience preferred; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus. 
* Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems. 
* Experience in reading and interpreting schematics. 
* Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, computer proficiency, and a focus on guest satisfaction are essential. 
* Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.   
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.  
* Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.   
* Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.  
* May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events  
* Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.  

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:

* Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. 
* Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.  
* Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools. 

 TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

* Hardware and tools, ladder, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine and push to talk radio
