Responsibilities:
Engineer II sought by DISH Network, L.L.C. in Englewood, Colorado.
Design, develop, and maintain set-top box applications for satellite and internet-based whole-home audio/video entertainment solutions, with a particular focus on video streaming. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, implement, and test new features for Android TV and/or DISH's existing embedded platforms. Utilize, change, control, and source code management systems within a development team. Operate in a dynamic development environment, ensuring the delivery of reliable software components. Perform Android Software Development with Agile software development methodology. Utilize the software Configuration Management tools such as Git. Perform UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. Utilize of computer science data structures and algorithms. Perform Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology, continuous integration tools like Jenkins, and video streaming technologies.
Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus 2 years of work experience in job offered, similar role, or as Associate Engineer. Also requires 2 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):
* Contribute to the design and modification of complex engineering systems, components, or processes.
* Manage and lead medium-sized engineering projects, including project planning, resource allocation, and tracking.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and timelines.
* Assist efforts to optimize sys- tern and software performance, making improvements that positively impact user experience and system efficiency.
* Identify and resolve complex engineering problems, making critical decisions and recommending innovative solutions.
* Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
* Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards in engineering work.
* Participate in quality audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders.
* Utilize advanced engineering software tools and technologies relevant to the specific engineering discipline.
* Stay updated on emerging tools and technologies that enhance project efficiency.
