Our office is located at 9315 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. Currently, this position will train and work from home as a safety precaution due to COVID -19. When it has been determined that office work is safe to return to, this position will remain flexible and offer opportunities for on-site and work from home options.

Responsibilities:
The EFM IT team has an immediate opening for a Engineer 2 - UNIX. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, documenting, and supporting IBM AIX and Power hardware. Administration and support of backup, systems management, and middleware products running on UNIX will also be the responsibility of this position. The Engineer 2 - UNIX evaluates and integrates software and hardware requests, and also provides issue and problem resolution and performs disaster recovery exercises The Engineer 2 - UNIX may provide instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Authorized to work in the US and will not require sponsorship now or in the future
* Available to work in the St. Louis office
* Excellent knowledge of IBM AIX 7.1 along with Power hardware is essential
* Experience with PowerVM technologies, especially logical partitions (LPARs), Virtual I/O Servers (VIOS), and hardware management consoles (HMCs)
* Experience with system performance monitoring and tuning utilities
* Experience working with Network Installation Manager (NIM), SAN and network-attached storage, and common open-source software such as Apache HTTP Server
* Experience writing and maintaining shell scripts is required
* Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and perform night and weekend maintenance
Preferred:
* Perl skills are a plus
* Must be willing and able to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and platforms as required
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software products
* Experience with the following applications/systems is a plus:
* Weblogic and Tomcat application servers
* Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS)
* NetBackup
* Administration and support of other platforms
