Electronics Calibration & Repair Technician (Test & Measurement)

At our Telford Service Centre, you'll work with a wide variety of electronic and electrical test and measurement equipment, supporting customers who rely on accurate and reliable instrumentation to develop, test, and manufacture the technologies shaping the future.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in electronics, electrical engineering, calibration, repair, or test equipment who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and continuously learning new technologies. Responsibilities:

As an Electrical/Electronics Calibration Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring customers' test and measurement equipment performs accurately and reliably.

You will:

* Calibrate, validate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic test instruments.
* Work with both Keysight and third-party test and measurement equipment at the Telford Service Centre.
* Perform calibration activities using established procedures while applying sound technical judgement.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues across a range of instruments and technologies.
* Interpret technical specifications, procedures, and customer requirements.
* Communicate directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical updates when required.
* Maintain accurate calibration records, reports, and service documentation.
* Collaborate with experienced technicians and engineers while developing your own technical expertise.
* Support on-site calibration activities at customer locations when required (typically less than 25% travel)

You will be working in a team of experienced technicians and will be responsible for all steps in calibration and training will be given where required. 

Qualifications:

Required

* Technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Calibration, Test & Measurement, or a related discipline.
* Experience working with electronic or electrical equipment in a calibration, repair, maintenance, testing, manufacturing, laboratory, or service environment.
* Good understanding of basic electrical and electronic principles.
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
* Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new equipment and technologies.
* Ability to obtain UK security clearance.

Desirable

* Previous calibration experience within a laboratory, manufacturing, service, or metrology environment.
* Experience working with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers, power supplies, multimeters, RF
* equipment, or related test instruments.
* Understanding of quality systems and calibration standards.
* Customer-facing technical experience.
* Experience preparing technical reports or calibration documentation
