Overview: Merrick & Company is looking for an Electrical Designer II to work on Electrical Utility Distribution Design for our growing San Antonio, TX office. This office specializes in Local and Federal electrical design projects including medium voltage power distribution, gas distribution, and facility electrical systems. This is a full-time position. Hourly pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, existing credentials, skills, and experience. SIGN ON BONUS offered for qualified candidates with CPS GIS Production Training Credentials. Responsibilities: * Conceptual and detailed design / documentation of medium voltage power distribution including 15kV and 35kV of overhead and/or underground lines, service transformers, and electrical service to industrial, commercial and residential properties. * Utilize knowledge of the CPS Energy standards, NESC, or other utility's standards, experience with 15kV and 35kV design for overhead and underground systems, NEC as applicable for over 1000V design, to assist in field investigations and construction support. * Perform electrical calculations, electrical system design and documentation under the supervision of PE licensed engineers. * Construction administration which will include As-Built drawing review, site inspection, and site investigation report production for overhead and underground systems. Qualifications: * Four (4) years minimum of overhead, underground or combination. * Minimum two (2) years of experience using GIS and/or AutoCAD design software-based drawing generation. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel & Word. * Experience using technical codes: NESC, NEC, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes. * Candidates must pass a background check given criteria set by the client. * Periodic reporting to client sites for work and / or training. * Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
