About Us: Our educational philosophy is based on the UK's EYFS and the belief that each and every child is unique and important. We have started the process of gaining IB world school status and delivering the PYP to our students. Our concentration on "whole child" development includes learning to co-operate and working together, together with an understanding of the environment and environmental issues. The school has a purpose built theatre, dance studio, children's cookery room and swimming pool, in addition to our roof garden, the school also owns its own farm which not only allows for the children to get closer to nature but provides organic produce used in the school kitchens. About Yi'wu: Yi'wu is a city surrounded by mountains and located in China's beautiful Zhejiang Province. Because of its moderate climate and the bustling commodity market, Yi'wu has become a hot-spot for tourism and shopping. Just an earshot away from Hangzhou and Shanghai, Yi'wu is in a great location for travel and sightseeing but without the added cost of living in a big city. Within the city, Xiuhu Lake and Songpu Hill have been attracting poets and scholars for over a thousand years. With the largest commodity market in China, Yi'wu is a great place to buy handmade trinkets and handicrafts to send back home. Yi'wu is growing fast but has still maintained its charming Chinese characteristics - its a wonderful location for wanderlust travelers and adventurers seeking a true Chinese experience. About You: Applicants should be native English speakers and hold a degree from an accredited university or equivalent, (a TEFL qualification is required for candidates that do not have a teaching degree.) However, we also welcome applications from experienced international teachers with alternative qualifications. The school believes strongly in the on-‐going professional development of its staff and in time, other career opportunities will become available to the right candidates. Responsibilities: *One-year contract * As a Co-homeclass teacher to work with colleagues to deliver our curriculum with energy and enthusiasm, using a wide range of learning techniques such as immersion, phonics (Using Bug Cub global), story-telling, singing, dialogue art and role play in combination with formal exercises * Staff should communicate with learners in an engaging, age-appropriate way, ensuring that all learning including that of language is both effective and fun * Ensure classes are run efficiently and start and end, as scheduled * Full-time, Monday - Friday (8:00-5:00) with an hour lunch break every day Basic Qualifications: * Age 24-55 (the age range required to obtain a legal working visa in Zhejiang Province) * A minimum of 12 months post-bachelor's degree teaching/instuctional experience * English language fluency - only native speakers from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and United States will be considered * A passion for educating young learners and a keen interest in their development * Ability to command the attention of large groups of children in an engaging and compelling manner * Energetic, enthusiastic, animated approach to storytelling and delivering content to learners * Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-change work environment * Professionalism in oral and written communications * Ability to relocate to China for a 12 month contract Preferred Qualifications: * Two or more years professional experience working with toddlers 2-4 years old * Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification * Experience traveling internationally and/or working abroad Required Education: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Compensation and Benefits * Salary of CNY 8,000 - 12,000/month (commensurate with background and qualifications) * PLUS 1,000 CNY/monthly housing allowance; apartment 10 minutes from the school * Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided by the school on working days * Airfare reimbursement upon contract completion * Sponsored "Z" working visa/visa support during application * Accident & Health insurance * Two weeks paid holiday plus 11 Chinese national holidays and some Western holidays How to apply: If you are interested in applying for this position, we kindly request you prepare the following materials: Your resume/CV A recent photograph Scan copy of your passport information page Scan copies of your degree and TEFL/TESOL certificates Your current location and preferred start date Due to the volume of applications received, please understand it may not be possible for the company to contact each candidate individually.
