				Overview:

The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Consultant is responsible for delivering trauma-informed consultation services (Individual/Family, Classroom-Based, Programmatic levels) to Franklin County and within the 16 county mid-Ohio region. In addition, the IECMH Consultant is responsible for the delivery of brief consultation services through the Ohio Preschool Expulsion Prevention Partnership (OPEPP) Hotline. IECMH Consultants work collaboratively to engage early childhood educators, professionals and families in various early care settings to promote healthy learning environments through assessment/observation, goal setting, coaching, training and linkages to resources.

Responsibilities:

* Provides IECMH consultation at the child/family, classroom-based and programmatic levels.
* Provides observation and assessment of early childhood settings using evidenced-based tools and measures (DECA, CHILD, ASQ).
* Provides coaching and professional development training for early care and education professionals using evidence-based models and strategies.

* Provides goal planning and setting for strategy implementation.
* Facilitates evidenced-based educational programs (PECE, Triple P, Incredible Years, etc.).
* Participates in data/outcome collection of all IECMH services; uses outcomes for quality improvement and planning.
* Establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations and early childhood programs/systems in conjunction with ECMH Supervisor.
*  Travel to community sites to provide services within the assigned 16 county mid-Ohio region.
* Flexible schedule including required evening and weekend availability to meet the needs of parents/teachers in the community.

Qualifications:

Education Requirement: 
Master's Degree, required. 

Licensure Requirement: 

*  Ohio licensure required (i.e., LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, LIMFT). 

*  Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. 

Certifications: 

*  Ohio Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Professional Credential, preferred. 

*  Training in evidence based parenting interventions with a strong preference for individuals accredited to provide Triple P. 

Skills: 

*  Comprehensive knowledge of child growth and development and family systems which impact on the development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. 

*  Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

*  Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect with and develop relationships with community stakeholders is desirable. 

*  Basic technology skills including Word, Powerpoint and Excel. 

*  Set up laptops, projectors and other equipment in community locations to support program activities and use technology including cell phones, computers, email and conferencing software to provide services to parents, teachers and caregivers of young children. 

*  Bilingual applicants preferred (Spanish, Somali). 

Experience: 

*  Two years of experience in early childhood mental health and childhood development, required. 

*  Training/experience in evidence-based models, preferred 

*  Training/experience with trauma-informed practices and working with vulnerable populations, preferred. 

*  Previous experience working in early education settings, preferred. 

*  Experience serving at-risk populations and demographically diverse communities, preferred.
