Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, and implementing a professional individual and group counseling program for assigned students. Providing a safe and positive living environment that delivers guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the program in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Pay: $54,304.00
Hours: Sunday-Tuesday: 1pm-10pm, Wednesday: 12pm-9pm, Thursday: 1pm-10pm
Vacation: Minimum of ten days per year. Actual days are based upon your Service Date
Sick Time: Ten days per year
Holidays: 12 paid holidays per year

Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Provides structured classes for students in employability skills and emotional development. Classes will include grief/loss, handling interpersonal conflict and how to deal with homesickness, among others. Other classes will cover communication, self-care, and other skills focused on developing and improving student retention and success.
* Develop methods for obtaining feedback from staff and students on new topics and subjects needed for curriculum development.
* Maintain curriculum electronically and/or in hardcopy in an organized way. Develop lesson plans for each class. Groups/classes will be interactive to encourage strong student participation.
* Develop activities promoting interpersonal skills that can be easily incorporated into existing meetings or group sessions facilitated by non-counseling staff.
* Conducts periodic focus groups and provides feedback to appropriate entities; modifies programming based on student feedback.
* Provides daily communication to the Counseling Manager and other Counselors regarding any concerns for student issues revealed during evening hours.
* Maintain positive and effective relationships with students. Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude, proper behavior and goal achievement.
* Coordinate and assist with any social development activities promoting self-skills and professional growth with dorm and/or recreation staff.
* Work with the Residential Living Manager to develop and execute a rotating schedule of presenting mini-sessions or activities at dormitory meetings.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
