Responsibilities:

The Telephony Engineer will be an integral part of the NIWC - US Coast Guard IPT. This project will be based out of the USCG C5ISC and will support existing and future telephone and communications systems. 

This position is open to current TSG Chesapeake, VA internal employees ONLY.

Work Model: Onsite

Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Provide direct support to the IT Services team lead including the government sponsor and his/her managers daily.
* Assist with the engineering, design, and configuration of telephony systems. 
* Supervise the installation and maintenance of remote communication systems.
* Work directly with C5ISC in support of legacy telephone systems.
* Provide training and support to USCG telecommunications personnel.
* Investigate and diagnosis functional system issues, recommend, design, and implement approved solutions.
* Provide project technical support, including defining project scope, requirements, solutions, and deliverables; consulting with customers, working groups and experts as needed.
* Provide Maintenance Planning and Management, Sustaining Engineering, Technical Data, Technical manuals development and updates, Training and Training Support to ensure Fleet readiness.
* Ensure all data, configurations, and technical documentation within the current baseline are being identified, captured, and controlled.
* Conduct analyses that: assess application of industry best practices, estimate cost savings, and determine if solutions match the desired system architecture objectives.
* Other related duties as assigned, including serving as a consultant on projects in area of expertise.
