Responsibilities:
The Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems. In tandem with Lead Engineer and the Chief Engineer, candidate will be responsible for assigning work and scheduling staff. Current hours to be filled ( 7am - 3pm M-F).
Pay Rate: $48.60/hourly
Schedule
7am - 3pm (temporary schedule)
9am - 5pm (permanent schedule)
Work Model: Onsite
Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Direct, coordinate and exercise functional responsibility for planning, organizing, and controlling the integration and completion of building systems through those they are responsible.
* Monitors and supervises the ongoing work by third party contractors and in-house personnel to ensure optimal performance.
* Works with the Lead Engineer or Chief Engineer in overseeing the complete operations of the building.
* Purchasing of goods under the directive of Lead and Chief.
* Operates and maintains the central plant areas and any energy management system.
* Maintains building support, safety, and security of equipment by hosting regular meetings with staff.
* Responds to customer requests in a helpful and consultative manner.
* Establishes and maintains inventories of tools, supplies and equipment necessary for daily maintenance.
* Engages, discusses, and comes up with solutions to tenant/customer challenges.
* Responsible for assisting the operator with daily operations procedures in the central plant.
* Assist in maintaining and repairing all machinery as assigned.
* Responsible for assisting the operators with maintaining all safety equipment at the central plant.
* Perform preventive maintenance work orders as assigned.
* Responsible for making after hours rounds and mechanical equipment room to assess the functionality of the equipment and work that has been completed.
* Assist the operators in maintaining the clean and safe appearance of the central plant and all machinery contained within it.
* Responsible for after-hours emergencies of HVAC, fire alarm, electrical and plumbing issues that may arise in the building.
* Work on minor construction projects.
* Prepare incident summaries on emergencies.
* Complies with all applicable company policies regarding health, safety and environmental compliance and information protection.
* Other duties as assigned.
Accountable For:
* Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
* Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines.
* Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
* Knowledge of HVAC and associated systems employing computer/software-based monitoring and control devices.
* Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Ability to repair building systems that are controlled by a central Energy Management Control System (EMCS).
* Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
* Must be able at times to work independently with little or no supervision.
* Ability to show proper contract required licensing to perform the duties associated with this position.
* Desire to move up within the organization by demonstrating skill and drive in the tasks assigned.
* Ability to pass an extensive background analysis.
* Ability to use best practices to troubleshoot and repair equipment and system problems quickly and economically.
* Ability to read blueprint diagrams.
* Ability to use computer software to develop and track progress of tasks; specifically, Excel, Word, email, and Power Point.
