				Overview:

CHI Health Good Samaritan has provided paramedic-level emergency ambulance service to the City of Kearney and Buffalo County Fire District #1 since 1988. Our paramedics also provide mutual aid response to area ambulance and rescue squads in order to bring the emergency department closer to the patient. CHI Health Good Samaritan AirCare is the longest operating original air ambulance service in Nebraska. AirCare's equipment and staff are prepared to transport two patients without notice. 

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you'll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Responsibilities:

As an EMS Dispatcher at Good Samaritan Hospital, you will work in a fast paced environment, working both individually and in a team environment to receive and coordinate both emergent and non-emergent telephone and radio requests for patient transports via air and ground ambulance. This exciting position will allow you to work closely with flight clinicians, pilots, mechanics, and administrators to ensure our patients are flown to their destination in a safe and timely manner.

* Performs emergency dispatching of AirCare Air Ambulances & Ground Ambulances
* Compiles, organizes, and processes information for the department from radio, phones and verbal communication.
* Monitors and records incoming and outgoing phone calls on the Emergency Services toll-free hotline for quality assurance purposes.
* Types,  files,  audits, copies, maintains and monitors department records.
* Provides department service to patients, family members, physicians, nursing and EMS personnel both in and out of the Health Systems.
* Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma
* EMT or Dispatch certifications preferred
