Be a collaborative liaison between the EMS/Fire community, the medical director, and Enterprise. The EMS Coordinator will participate in appropriate committees and initiatives in EMS/Fire communities to ensure quality patient care across the continuum. Responsible for the development, coordination, and teaching of EMS courses and continuing education programs which meet established state and national standards.
The schedule for this position is 0800-1700 and this position will be in between the two hosptials at West Jordan and West Valley.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
* 5 years of related experience in emergency medical services (EMS), preferably in both: field (911 ambulance and/or fire agency) and in hospital.
* 3 years experience in instructing students by using adult learning principles and instructional methodologies. Prefer experience in developing education programs.
* Knowledge of the EMS, Law Enforcement and Fire Department agencies in service area.
* Demonstrated experience analyzing raw data, finding trends, and preparing statistical reports.
* Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, cardiology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions.
* Knowledge and experience in computer instructional technology and Microsoft Office Professional software.
* High school diploma or GED, required
* Current Utah Healthcare License and/or Paramedic certification, required
* Basic Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA BLS CPR) within one year of hire.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA ACLS) within one year of hire.
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA PALS) within one year of hire.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
