Overview:
The Employee Relations Specialist will provide support for the Employee and Labor Relations team by assisting with employment issues, conduct and discipline issues. This position will provide guidance and coaching to employees and HR Business Partners relative to Employee Relations issues. The Specialist will provide support to engagement and retention activities.
Position Reports To: Employee Relations Manager
Responsibilities:
* Develops and maintains positive relationships with employees and management staff.
* Assists with investigations into complex employee performance or behavior issues.
* Reviews documentation and ensures consistency with policy and adverse action.
* Assists employees and managers in mediating issues.
* Assists with the unemployment process.
* Assists staff in planning special events (i.e. Service Awards Banquet, CHEER Week, etc.) Assists in the development of the Employee Engagement Survey. Leads Action Planning development sessions with managers and departments in order to drive engagement.
* Coordinates exit and stay interviews and analyze data to help guide retention efforts.
* Manages Employee and Labor Relations database.
* Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovation solutions, policy changes and/or updates based on changing regulations at federal, state and organizational levels.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's Degree preferably in Human Resources, Healthcare Management, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related field within 1 year of employment.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources or an administrative office.
* Appropriate education can replace work experience (e.g., Master's Degree in related field).
* Proficiency within the Microsoft Office products.
Desired:
* Employee and Labor Relations experience with knowledge of state and federal regulations related to employment and HR administration.
* Experience with managing and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
* Proficiency within the Microsoft Office products.
* Familiarity with state and federal leave laws and regulations.
* Mediation certified.
